Open AI has openly announced that they are gradually rolling out plugins for ChatGPT in order to study their real-world use, impact, and safety challenges.

Also Open Ai is hosting two plugins themselves, a web browser and code interpreter. Moreover, Open Ai has open-sourced the code for a knowledge base retrieval plugin, to be self-hosted by any developer with information with which they’d like to augment ChatGPT.
Initially a small number of developers and ChatGPT Plus users will be given priority to use these plugins.
Open Ai foresees to learn from this deployment and continue to improve their safety systems and plans to, eventually, enable developers using OpenAI models to integrate plugins into their own applications beyond ChatGPT.
